Evans is an American journalist working as a meteorologist at WETM-TV. He joined WEEK 25 News in March 2014. Austin attended Taylor County School where he developed an obsession with the band. Playing trombone and marching baritone, Austin attended KMEA State Finals with the Taylor County High School Marching Band in 2010 placing third in the state. He was selected twice to the 4th District All-District Band. Even with all this music experience, he still wanted to be a meteorologist.
Austin graduated in 2014 and immediately enrolled at Western Kentucky University to pursue his degree in meteorology. While attending WKU, Austin was a member and officer of the WKU Storm Team and was also a member of the WKU AMS/NWA Student Chapter. During his last two years at WKU, he was selected to be a forecaster for White Squirrel Weather, a forecast entity tasked by the university to forecast for events and to provide advice for inclement weather. Along with his own graduation, he got the opportunity to forecast for the Grammy-winning rock band Cage the Elephant. He graduated in 2019 with his Bachelor of Science in Meteorology with a minor in Broadcast Communications.
