Aurora Browne is an American journalist from Thunder Bay, Ontario, currently working as a Canadian actress and comedian, best known as one of the creators and stars of the sketch comedy series Baroness von Sketch Show.

Browne is one of Canada’s busiest and most talented comediennes. She started her career in comedy when, on a whim, she signed up with a friend for an improv course. She was swiftly recruited by sketch troupe Urban Myth and began performing regularly in Toronto’s thriving comedy scene. Her solo work began attracting attention, and in 2000 she was hired by The Second City Mainstage, a troupe that has produced comedy superstars like Gilda Radner, Catherine O’Hara, Mike Myers, and Colin Mochrie.
After graduating from York University’s prestigious acting program, Aurora was hired by world-renowned sketch comedy theatre, The Second City Toronto. Since then she has been a fixture in Toronto’s improv scene, and her television appearances include Man Seeking Woman, Corner Gas, Orphan Black, the upcoming Nurses, and the web series The Writer’s Block, for which she received a Canadian Screen Award nomination. She was also a co-creator and co-star of Newborn Moms’ hit web series, which appeared both on CBC’s and ABC’s digital channels. She also appears in the upcoming animated pre-school series Agent Binky: Pets of the Universe for Nelvana, as the voice of Gracie.
Browne has been nominated for numerous Canadian Comedy Awards for her work in Toronto’s red hot live sketch and improv scene, and in 2008 won the CCA for Best Female Improviser. She was also a nominee for the Tim Sims Encouragement Fund Award. Most recently, Browne is thrilled to join The Great Canadian Baking Show as co-host, alongside Carolyn Taylor. She loves baking and eating and can’t wait to meet the Season 3 bakers.
