When she’s not on the desk, Audrey can be found out in the field, reporting on the latest overnight breaking news or unique local businesses for her weekly “Made in S.A.” segment. Stepping into her first newsroom at the age of 16, Audrey began learning the basics of reporting in her high school program, Dobie News. She went on to receive her bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. EAT ‘EM UP KATS! During college, she was an active member of the university’s television station, KSHU-News 7, and she interned at KRIV- FOX 26 in Houston.
Her first job from college brought her to KAVU in Victoria, Texas, as a reporter and fill-in anchor. From there, she headed west to Midland/Odessa, where she was a 4 and 5 p.m. anchor for four years. While at KEWS, Audrey covered a variety of breaking news stories, including the aftermath of tornadoes in Granbury, Texas, and the 2014 Fort Hood shooting. Audrey was also honored by the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters Association in 2012 and 2013 for her “continuing coverage” reporting.
When she’s not out reporting, you can catch Audrey taking in all the flavor San Antonio has to offer and spending time with her husband and two dogs, Eli and Stella.
