Brothers is an American journalist working as a Multimedia journalist and a reporter for News On 6 after graduating from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism. In her three years at the U of A, Ashlyn served as the main anchor, general assignment reporter, and the 2019-2020 UATV Station Manager. During Ashlyn’s tenure, the program received a regional Society of Professional Journalists Mark of Excellence and a national nomination for Best All-Around Newscast.
She was personally awarded the 2020 BEA TV Hard News Reporting 1st Place award, the 2019-2020 Arkansas Broadcasters Association Scholarship, several NATAS Mid-America Emmy Student Pillars, the 2017 NATAS Mid-America Walter Cronkite Scholarship, amid others. having worked as a production assistant for True Detective and spent four years in Los Angeles as an actress.
Ashlyn’s passion for journalism began in high school when her teacher encouraged her to sideline and courtside report, as well as anchor the weekly Wildcat news. The summer before her senior year in high school, Ashlyn interned with KNWA/Fox 24’s Pigtail Nation. Upon graduation, she accepted a job as a production assistant at KNWA before being promoted to a digital content producer. Ashlyn’s passion for sports grew while attending the university. This led to contracts with Sunday Night Football and SEC Nation. During the summer of 2019, Ashlyn interned at KATV in Little Rock.
In her free time, Ashlyn loves to attend Razorback sporting events and cheer on the hogs. She also loves to write poetry, hang out with friends and engage in musical theatre. When Ashlyn is not in the studio, she is immersing herself in the community and getting to know the great people of the Sooner State.
