Boles is an American journalist from the United States, currently working as an anchor and a reporter at the WDBJ7 team, Roanoke, Virginia. She joined the WDBJ7 team in July 2018. Boles was the Danville bureau chief until June 2019, when she shifted to Roanoke to report from the main station. Ashley co-anchors the weekend morning newscasts and is a general assignment reporter, but is in charge of covering the crime and court beat.
Before WDBJ7, Ashley was a reporter for WCTI in Greenville, NC. While at WCTI, she covered everything from breaking news to lighter features, placing an emphasis on education stories. Ashley graduated with honors from East Carolina University, where she majored in Communication with a concentration in Journalism and a minor in English. During her time at ECU, she was an ambassador for the School of Communication, a resident advisor, and a member of Zeta Tau Alpha. She also had the chance to produce the awards show for the Broadcast Education Association in Las Vegas during her junior and senior years.
When she’s off-camera, Ashley loves going to Smith Mountain Lake, finding new hiking trails, and trying new recipes.
