She is a 2017 summa cum laude graduate of the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss), Ariyl earned degrees in broadcast journalism and public policy leadership. Before working in Ohio, Ariyl traveled to Sri Lanka to create a magazine documenting the island nation’s emerging democracy, politics, culture, economy, and everything in between in the aftermath of its brutal civil war.
While in college, she traveled to South Africa where she studied human rights issues, racial reconciliation, and sustainable development for a month.
