Lucia is an American Journalist currently serving as a reporter for CBS 11. She joined the news team in September 2010, one day before a tornado swept through the area. Andrea has been covering major stories across North Texas ever since. She is a Texan native though grew up in Houston and spent summers as a child in Colombia, South America. Lucia has earned her undergraduate degree in broadcast journalism at Boston University. She began her first television job at a small station in Laredo, right on the banks of the Rio Grande. While reporting just up the road in Harlingen, she covered border security and immigration issues. When Vice President Dick Cheney accidentally shot his hunting partner, she was the first reporter on the air with eyewitness accounts.
She has also worked in Orlando at WFTV and then returned home to Houston, where she reported for KTRK and KHOU. What Andrea loves most about her job is digging up new stories to tell and showing viewers what’s going on in the world around them. She is a member of IRE – Investigative Reporters and Editors. During her free time, Lucia enjoys cooking, traveling and any new adventure life throws at her: Hang gliding, sailing – you name it! You can catch her running along the many trails around the Metroplex, where she’s probably training for her next half-marathon or triathlon.
