Reid is an American journalist from New York working with the CBS3 Eyewitness News team since January 2020.

Prior to CBS3, she spent six years in San Francisco as a reporter and fill-in anchor for KRON 4 News. There, she covered a range of stories breaking the headlines such as the deadly wildfires in the North Bay, the U.C. Berkeley Riots, the Camp Fire, the sudden passing of Mayor Ed Lee, and the contentious election for his replacement. Additionally, she covered the deadly Ghost Ship warehouse fire in Oakland, the brutal rape and murder of 8-year-old Maddy Middleton.

Alecia also soloes anchored the Asiana Flight 214 plane crash at San Francisco International Airport for two straight hours on KRON 4. Later, she got her television break at News 12 in New York City, covering epic stories such as that of President Barack Obama’s 2008 Inauguration from Washington D.C., and the Miracle on the Hudson. Also, she then covered the 2010 NYC earthquake and Hurricane Irene in 2011.

Reid later taught Journalism during the Spring of 2019 at the Del York Creative Academy in Lagos, Nigeria. They then gained national recognition as the Most Influential People of African Descent Class of 2019 in Media and Culture. This was as they pushed to change the country’s creative landscape.

She is a two-time nominee for the Emmy awards and passionate about giving hope to the voiceless in society.

Away from work, find Alecia volunteering with a number of charitable organizations, traveling, and trying different types of food.

She is a member of Habitat for Humanity & Global Village, Big Brother Big Sister, the National Association of Black Journalists, and MIKA Girls Basketball. This helps pave the way for student-athletes to become successful on and off the court.
