Letang is an American journalist working with KSBW Action News 8 as a weekend morning anchor/reporter since June 2019. She is happy to be fulfilling her dream in the Golden State.
Prior to KSBW Action News 8, she spent two years at WILX in Lansing, MI working as a multi-media journalist. There she, did everything from general to investigative work, to fun and lighthearted pieces. Alani was responsible for writing, shooting, reporting, and editing her own daily stories.
While in Lansing, she earned several reporting awards. This includes an award for her investigative work in a local animal shelter. Alani was also honored by the Michigan Association of Broadcasters for Best Reporter and Investigative Story, for the same local animal shelter investigation. Currently, she is nominated for an Investigative Reporting Emmy with the Michigan chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
She is a proud graduate of the University of Detroit Mercy where she obtained a BA in Communications in 2015. In addition, she earned a MA in Journalism from Wayne State University in 2016.
