Abby Acone is an American meteorologist and reporter at KOMO – TV. In December 2018, is when she joined the KOMO forecast team as a meteorologist and weather reporter.

Abby Acone Biography

The Bellevue native Abby is a graduate from Washington State University with two degrees: Communication and Spanish. She is also a graduate with her meteorology degree from Mississippi State University class of 2017.

Prior to joining KOMO, Abby worked as the morning and midday meteorologist for the ABC affiliate in Colorado Springs, KRDO, for more than four years. At KRDO, Abby covered the wide spectrum of wild weather in the Rocky Mountains, including blizzards, hurricane-force winds, fire weather, tornadoes, grapefruit-sized hail and more.

Abby has also covered issues like local climate change research, snowpack fluctuations, drought concerns, and avalanche danger. She loves mountain meteorology and is so happy to be applying her previous experience to forecasting weather for the Cascades and Olympics. She also did Telemundo weather in Colorado and loves getting any chance to practice her Spanish.

Abby began her career at KEPR/KIMA TV in Tri-Cities, Washington as a general assignment reporter and weekend weather anchor for two years. She won the “Best Weathercast” award in 2017, from the Associated Press for her division in the western states. Abby has also been awarded multiple times for her reporting contributions. In addition, she has earned her National Weather Association Seal of Approval.
